Pyrenees Training Camp

We are very excited to announce the ever successful Endurance Sports Coaching training camps will continue in 2013, heading back to the beautiful surroundings of the Pyrenees.

Run in association with the excellent support of Ian and Julie Wright at Pyrenees Multisport; the days will be a combination of swimming, cycling and running returning each night to stay in the homely comforts of Ian and Julie's 19th century farmhouse in Luscon. Throughout the camp you'll have the opportunity not only to test and improve your fitness but also to practise and improve your swim, cycling and running skills. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask questions and discuss race plans and strategies, training ideas, training and race nutrition, post race/training recovery.

Next Camp Dates

Due to increased work with British Triathlon and Triathlon England, Andy will not be running training camps in 2014 - sorry!

How much training will I be expected to do during this camp?

An itinerary for the training camp can be found here. However, it is important to stress this is only a guide. The structure of the week may change depending on the requirements of the athletes attending. Please remember nothing is compulsory and you can do as much or as little training as you like or as your race and training goals require. While this is a training camp, it is also a week away from your life at home so you need to make sure you enjoy it and get everything out of it you want!

Sessions and coaching include:

  • Swimming: Pool and open water sessions with the opportunity to refine technique and practice open water skills as well as the use of an endless pool
  • Cycling: Numerous beautiful rides up mountains, down mountains and winding through the flat/rolling countryside. These rides are guided and supported by at least two experienced coaches with the longer rides including vehicle support.
  • Running: Run sessions will be coached or directed with a variety of run routes available
  • Strength and conditioning: Sessions will take place under the guidance of qualified strength and conditioning coaches
  • Consultations: Time will be made available to discuss training theories and racing tactics
